Transdisciplinarity and the cultivation of networks form the basis of the European Center for Culture & Creativity (ECCC). We combine research and theoretical reflection with practice and experience in the creative and culture sector and feed our knowledge back into teaching.

Research & Development
Our central knowledge interest is to expand and deepen art and culture experiences at the intersection of analogue and digital spaces. We develop interdisciplinary studies and projects that bring together technical expertise and informatics with insights from the humanities and social sciences.
We operate a think tank called “Experience Design in Arts & Culture” that connects questions of Design Research to Critical Thinking and studies of audience and reception research. We conduct our research activities in the context of the prospective E³UDRES² Applied Research Center of Excellence.

Knowledge Transfer
We embed research projects of the St. Pölten UAS in current discourses and focus on topic areas such as cognition, creativity, and the relationship between artistic and artificial intelligence. We develop participatory event and communication formats and invite experts from the world of art & culture to open dialogue formats.
Within the framework of the E³UDRES² Open Innovation Hub “Creative Industries & Digital Media”, we engage in networking with regional players from the cultural and creative sectors, develop challenges with stakeholders, and offer further training options such as workshops for generative AI tools.

Innovative Teaching Offers
We share the vision of a European higher education institution that takes learners, at different stages in terms of professional practice, on a lifelong educational journey.
Together with European partner universities, we work on designing interdisciplinary teaching offers that integrate technical skills, design competencies, and cultural education. In this context, we use Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) as test fields for the development of micro-credentials for the digital transformation in the cultural and creative sectors.
